NSCAA Hosting an National Diploma Residential this Summer in Victor, Colo.

Twice per year, the NSCAA offers its four advanced coaching courses as week-long residential educational opportunities. From June 5 to June 11, Victor, Colo. will host the first of these residential courses, specifically the National Diploma.

Nicknamed "The City of Gold Mines," Victor is located nearly 10,000 feet above sea level on the southwest side of Pikes Peak. This year will mark the third time the city has hosted an NSCAA residential course.

Elevation Training Center
This residential course will be hosted at the Elevation Training Center, which is ideal for athletic team retreats with adventures in and around the scenic city. The center has large dining and assembly halls for meals, meetings, and games, as well as "camp style" dorm lodging. Artie Wachter Field, where NSCAA course candidates will have their field sessions, features artificial turf training areas. The NSCAA National Diploma

The National Diploma is a 45-hour course designed to help coaches with more advanced players, and explore a variety of teaching models and methodologies. The course includes sessions on the teaching process and psychological skills training. Candidates receive a curriculum that outlines the course content and includes valuable resource material. Testing includes oral, written, and coaching evaluations in a variety of areas including (but not limited to):

  • The impression you make
  • If you made a professional appearance
  • How you approach a session
  • Exhibiting enthusiasm while coaching, as well as taking a positive approach towards the players

It is recommended that candidates have already earned the NSCAA Level 6 Diploma or a USSF "E" license before registering for a National Diploma course. [+] Download the Victor course information sheet
