How did you first become involved with the NSCAA?
As a young club coach, it was natural to join to keep in touch with the sport. I became more involved when coaching became my profession as well as my hobby.

Why do you continue to stay involved with the NSCAA?
It is my way to give back to the game and the people who have made a difference in my life.

Why do you like teaching NSCAA courses?
The focus is on education and improvement makes NSCAA courses a cooperative effort between instructor and candidate.

What is your favorite NSCAA course to teach and why?
I think my favorite is going to be the Premier Diploma because of the discussion of tactics but the National Diploma is great because the candidates are so eager to learn.

What is the best thing about the NSCAA Academy?
The quality of the staff and their dedication as educators.

Who is your all-time favorite player?
Kristine Lilly - University of North Carolina, US National Team. Her ability in every facet of the game and her constant effort to be better every day!

Who are/were your mentors in soccer?
Anson Dorrance, John Bernardi (club coach in Dallas), Marcia McDermott

What advice would you give to young coaches?
Be willing to spend time learning from different people but in the end be yourself as a coach and use your strengths to excel.

What is your favorite book and why?
Buddhism Without Beliefs - The philosophy is the way I wish I could approach life. :)

What is your favorite movie and why?
American Flyers - The message about realizing the potential of the gifts you have been given.

What is the last book you read?

If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Oprah - it would be great to pick a cause and for once be able to do something real and effective about it!
